He era Mai on Monday the 18th of August we went to Te Tahwai marae. We first had to get ready at school and wait for the bus to arrive. When the bus arrive we went straight to the marae, when we got there we were called in with our karaga when we got called in we had to take off our shoes because the whare was special. We were the manuhiri the visitors and they were the tangata whenua is the owner of the land.
When we first got in there we saw the Maori art work the kofaifai
we started off with our speeches Bronson said his speech and they said theirs as soon as possible when Bronson said his speech they apologized to Bronson because there was no older man to say thank you for being brave and giving it a go. As soon as we finished our speeches we went to wash our hands and eat some kai first we had to wait in the wharekai the dining room.
Then we did some art we had to copy some patterns on a piece of paper from different types of ancestors. When we finished our art we had to to move to the poi dancing we learnt a new dance of a Maori music and poi dancing.
when we had done we had to thank them for having us over to their marae and they said thank you for coming to our marea. I think it was really fun at the marae and i hope we could go back next year.
